The brief

Credibility before the doors open

Wonderwood Montessori is a new independent school in Mooroobool, Cairns, teaching authentic Montessori education across three mixed-age cycles for children from around three to twelve. When we built the site the school was still "Opening pending final approval from NSSAB and ACECQA", so it had no operating history to point to. The challenge was to earn parent trust from a standing start. We answered it with a calm natural-green design, genuinely deep pedagogical content and live tour and waitlist tools, so families could commit early.

What we built

Inside the build

✓A natural-green identity. The site pairs a calm green and neutral palette with a custom set of SVG icons for the six Montessori principles, from respect for the child through to cosmic education, so the pedagogy reads visually and not just in the copy.
✓Enrolment tools from day one. Prominent Book a School Tour and Join the Waitlist actions, with the waitlist wired to mywaitlist.com.au, let families commit before the school has opened. A phone quick-link, 1300 329 122, sits in the header for instant contact.
✓Depth that builds trust. Rather than thin filler, the About section carries an Educational Theory Timeline charting fifteen-plus theorists from 1865 to 2000 and three detailed cycle subpages, while a running newsletter archive keeps the story current, signalling a serious school well before opening day.
✓Rooted in Far North Queensland. A detailed Acknowledgement of Country naming the region's many Traditional Custodian groups, alongside the Mooroobool street address and a warm Cairns hero line, ties the school firmly to its place and community.
