The brief
Owning the booking instead of renting it from an OTA
Sandy Toes Beach Stay is a one-bedroom apartment inside the Cairns Beach Resort at Holloways Beach, ten minutes from Cairns and the airport, marketed to couples, solo travellers and remote workers. For a single unhosted apartment the hard part is trust and direct bookings, because guests default to Airbnb and pay commission on both sides. The site answers with an embedded live-availability booking widget, an Airbnb review badge for proof, beach photography and a local dining guide, giving guests every reason to reserve on the owner's own website rather than a third-party listing.
What we built
How the site wins the direct booking
- ✓Embedded direct-booking widget. A Hospitable-powered booking iframe drops a live availability calendar straight onto the Book Direct page, so guests can check dates and reserve directly instead of clicking away to Airbnb or Booking.com.
- ✓Airbnb review proof. A Trustindex widget surfaces the apartment's Airbnb rating with an Excellent badge, borrowing the credibility of the listing platform while keeping the actual booking on the owner's site.
- ✓An enquiry form that captures the stay. The contact form asks for check-in and check-out dates, guest numbers and special requests, so every enquiry arrives with the detail the owner needs to quote and confirm without a back-and-forth.
- ✓Local storytelling that sells the location. Holloways Beach imagery and a blog, including a Top 10 Places to Eat guide, sell the whole holiday and pull in search traffic, not just a room.
