The brief
A welcoming front door for allied health
Olives Allied Health Services is a speech pathology practice led by Abimbola Makinde, serving the Gold Coast and Logan regions of Queensland. Its clients include autistic individuals and people with Down syndrome, intellectual disability and ADHD, so the site had to feel calm, plain-spoken and genuinely welcoming rather than clinical. The build answers this with a neuro-affirming, person-centred tone, a clear split between assessment and therapy, three delivery models laid out simply, and an enquiry pathway that captures a family's location up front so the right service area is matched quickly.
What we built
Inside the build
- ✓Two ways in, one clear form. The home page invites both a client enquiry and a professional referral, while the enquiry form captures name, phone, email, location and message behind a CAPTCHA, so admin can triage each request before the first call.
- ✓Therapy that travels. The site presents three delivery models: standard clinic sessions, mobile therapy delivered at homes, schools, workplaces and community venues, and group sessions for young adults at day program sites, so families self-select the format that suits them.
- ✓A neuro-affirming voice throughout. Copy stays respectful, collaborative and strengths-based, and names real approaches like Hanen strategies, PECS, Key Concept Signing and AAC, which signals genuine specialism rather than generic allied-health boilerplate.
- ✓Funding made legible. NDIS (plan and self-managed), Medicare EPC, GPMP and TCA, and private options are spelled out alongside a simple three-step path of Referral, Consultation and Commencement, removing the usual guesswork before a first appointment.
